Play any Major Scale – Free Piano Lessons

www.lessonrating.com. Music Theory Lesson How to Build any Major Scale Just like with building triads, building a major scale is about understanding the intervals between each note of the scale. If you understand this, you can build any major scale. All major scales follow this pattern (W = Whole Step, H = Half Step) W – W – H – W – W – W – H So let’s look at the notes of a C major scale. They are shown below with the interval between each note in parenthesis: C (W) D (W) E (H) F (W) G (W) A (W) B (H) C A good way to practice is to just pick a random note on the keyboard and then build your major scale. Learning your scales this way will make sure you don’t ever forget the notes in a major scale. ForMore Online Music Courses visit our Site. Our music teachers rate the top online piano courses. 20. RosandGuil2332 says:

This is a really great tutorial…

Though, id i were going to nit-picky I’d say that there is no such thing as a G-flat major scale because there is no key of G-flat. It’s really the F-sharp major scale. The two scales are exactly the same, but the actual name for it is the F-sharp major scale.

It may seem like its just stupid and it doesn’t matter, but if you said G-flat major on a theory test, you would be wrong (speaking from personal experience).

    Otherwise, good job!! ^_^

I started laughing when you were waving your hand on the piano, but the reality is it actually worked for me. I stopped my hands from cramping down on the keys, that’s a pretty good technique you guys! If you practice it every now and then I’m sure your hands will start to move smoothly across the piano.

I don’t understand blue scale. For blue scale you are saying C,Eb,F,F#,G,Bb,C, but I don’t understand why you are playing some key two times like C, C, Eb, Eb, F,F, F#,F#, G, G, Bb,C. Please explain.
