Yes, the Gimmes really did play a bar mitzvah – in Malibu, no less. The record is the best stuff from two sets; the kids name is Jonny Wixen, and apparently his dad is with a label or something. The family was in on the joke for sure – Jonny himself plays the drums on the two hidden tracks on the CD – but you can tell that most of the people there had no friggin’ idea of what they were witnessing.

I saw these guys with Chixdiggit back in 05 in Buffalo, NY.
They were so frikin loud I had to listen to most of their set outside. Also KJ and I were talking about making a music video which we later did make, but Jason did bring up the fact that a cartoon video would be cool.
I’m personally a European Melodic Metal fan, but there are a few good punk bands out there. These guys are one of them. The rest of punk is filled with teenage messages, liberal politics, and simpleton song progression.
