According to Nigel, the key of D minor is the saddest of all the keys. Without that key, “Lick My Love Pump” would not have been possible. Thank God for the D Minor key.
lol you are an idiot, what has gravity got to do with evolution ? there is no rate of evolution. evolution doesn’t have a target, apes and humans have common ancestors, so apes have evolved, into their current form. go back to school and get an education.

What is the evolution rate for a given species of monkey? Why haven’t the present day apes evolved already? Why are their no in between ape -human race? So did humans just happen to be this evolved while apes are that lagging behind? baloni

@sokaris418 The harmonic major is kind of the third mode of the harmonic minor. It follows the formula 1 2 3 4 #5 6 7. E.g. in the key of C (to make it simple), it’d be C D E F G# A B.
@jan1080 When the name “major” scale is used though it is generally referring to the Ionian mode specifically. The Lydian and Mixolydian are of course variations within the context of “mode of” that major scale. But I don’t think I’ve ever come across a “harmonic major” scale. There is harmonic minor and melodic minor and all of the modes of those scales, but I’ve never heard them referred to in any way as a “major” type of scale.
Justin, why are you so awesome? I swear, I learned more watching your videos in 25 minutes than I learned in 3 years with a guitar teacher.

very cool man i’m reading this book that teachs all of these scales and just about every scale there is. its called “the guitar grimoire scales and modes”. i just got a little confused because after i totally learned the major scale down the whole neck i thought oh now i learn the minor scale. but i see it doesn’t work like that. i mean its safe to say that all scales are just a variation of the major scale in comparison. right?
He’s given a lot of information here in a relatively short period of time, it’s a great lesson, but I wouldn’t worry about learning this just yet, if you’re just learning to play. Learn your basic major and minor chords, learn the pentatonic minor scale, and roll with that for a while. This is more of an intermediate to advance lesson, and you have to know a little about what he’s talking about to get it. Don’t get discouraged, just play and learn, learn and play, it’ll come!!!
This was actually really helpful, I never knew that you could incorporate different scales, like when you play Am natural and Am harmonic (during the cadence) it sounds really cool, its really adding character to my solos, thanks alot man, keep ‘em comin’
